3. Shafting

3.1 The centerline of shafting is parallel to baseline, and distance from baseline is 2350mm.
Basic diameter of shafting is 335mm, it is meet the requirement of RULE.
Main engine via intermediate shaft & propeller shaft drive FPP.
The propeller shaft, the propeller and the demountable coupling are hydraulic connection.
An earthing device to be installed on intermediate shaft, bearing of propeller shaft to  adopt oil lubricated system. (Fore, aft.) Sealing of propeller shaft all to be simplex-compact type seal.
Two stern tube temperature sensors to be provided for compliance to class shaft monitoring system
3.2 shaft material:
Intermediate shaft and propeller shaft are made of marine carbon steel.
Their mechanical properties & chemical composition should comply to Class requirements.
 

4. Arrangement of engine room, cargo pump room

4.1 E/R arrangement

Engine room is of a machinery-aft, with double bottom, 2 layers platform deck, the same part to be funnel above boat deck.
M/E and M/E propulsion shafting to be placed in E/R bottom layer.
Water pump, oil pump, transfer pump, segregated ballast pump and cargo oil pump are placed at E/R bottom layer.
Three (3) sets main generators sit on No.2 platform, with easy direct access from one to the other
The equipment of compressed air, pressure water tank, M/E supply oil unit, M/E fresh water cooler and M/E lub. oil cooler, oily water separator, lub. oil purifier and heater are placed on No.1 platform.
Boiler supply water tank, hot well, atmosphere condenser, diesel oil and fuel oil tanks are placed on No.1 platform (starboard).
  One exhaust gas boiler sits in the funnel.
A combination of 2 traveling cranes in ˇ°Tˇ± arrangement to be fitted over the main engine for overhauling and replacement of M/E components/spares able to move same to/from workshop

4.2 Cargo pump room placement

Cargo pump room be situated in #35~#42 frame between, four (4) screw type cargo pumps (500 m3/hˇÁ0.8MPa per pump) which to be driven by electric motors.  One cargo stripping pump & tank-cleaning pump (80 m3/h ˇÁ 0.8MPa) and two segregated ballast pumps (300 m3/h ˇÁ25m each pump) be situated in C.P.R.

4.3 funnel placement

One M/E exhaust boiler and spark trap silencer, three (3) A/E spark trap silencer, one fuel oil boiler spark trap device, one incinerator are to be placed in funnel.

4.4 Double bottom placement

Oil and water tanks placement in double bottom, height is 1.5 m.
Bilge well, bilge water tank, dirty L. O. tank, diesel oil tank , fuel oil overflow tank, sludge tank, M/E L. O. circle tank and others tank set isolated void tank.
