The vessel shall be designed for product oil tanker having deadweight of about 7000 metric tons in bulk. The vessel mainly carries light diesel oil of which flash point is less than 60°C, heavy diesel oil and product oil of which viscidity is between 1.0cst and 380cst, and is suitable for carrying three kinds of petroleum products at the same time.
The vessel sails in unrestricted navigation area.
The vessel to be made in steel and built with single deck, single screw, single rudder, aft engine, bulbous stern and bulbous bow. Forecastle and poop to be arranged. Above poop deck to have four tiers of deck house. On cargo oil tank area, from poop to forecastle to have flying gangway. Ten cargo tanks (5 pairs port and starboard) and one pair of slop tanks to be arranged. Cargo oil tank area to be with double hull, double bottom and longitudinal frame structure. Double bottom tank and side tanks may be used for ballast water tank. Engine room, fore and aft area to be of single hull with transverse frame structure. Double bottom tank and side tank at cargo oil area to be used as ballast tank.
When designing the propeller, consider a 15% sea margin. Under design draft (d=6.60m), clean bottom, calm deep water, and wind less than Beaufort wind scale for 3 grades, the vessel sails at trial speed 12.50knots.
